Keynote Speaker
Nira Madisi, MD | Bayhealth
Nira A. Madisi is a board certified endocrinologist who graduated with a bachelor of medicine and bachelor of surgery degree (MBBS) from the University of the West Indies, St Augustine, Trinidad and Tobago. She then worked in Trinidad and Tobago for a few years prior to starting residency at the Johns Hopkins University/Sinai Hospital of Baltimore program in Internal Medicine. She completed her Chief Residency in Internal Medicine at the same hospital. She completed her Fellowship in Endocrinology at the George Washington University Hospital and the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Washington DC and then came to Bayhealth in July 2015. She has published research in the field of diabetes; specifically identifying barriers to caring for persons with diabetes and identifying better ways to care for elderly persons with diabetes. Her interests include diabetes and bone diseases such as osteoporosis and hyperparathyroidism.

Edward Feuer, M.A., LPC | Christiana Care Health System
As a Behavioral Health Consultant for Christiana Care Health Services, Ed has been working collaboratively within primary care offices addressing medical issues such as diabetes, smoking cessation, heart disease, weight management, insomnia, in addition to symptoms of depression, anxiety, stress, and addiction for clients of all ages. He has worked as a BHC for over 4 years and with CCHS for 18 years. He is a licensed Professional Counselor in Delaware and a Licensed Psychologist in Pennsylvania.

Bethany Hall-Long | Delaware Lt. Governor
From 2002-2017, Bethany served as a member of Delaware’s legislature, first as a Representative and then as a Senator. She served as the chair of the Health and Social Services committee where her efforts were aimed at ensuring a stronger, healthier Delaware by combating addiction, focusing on a stronger mental health system, fighting cancer, and health inequities in our state. She also served as a member of the capital budget Bond Committee where Bethany focused on building Delaware’s infrastructure, modernizing our schools, repairing our highways, and protecting our environment and open space. Descended from Colonel David Hall, a judge, lawyer and 15th Governor of Delaware (1802), serving the community is in her blood. Her great-grandfather, David C. Hall, was elected to the Delaware House of Representatives (1916-1920). Bethany has always been, and will continue to be a strong voice for all of Delaware.
Kelli Janowski | Delaware Division of Public Health, Diabetes and Heart Disease Prevention and Control Program
Kelli Janowski is the Trainer/Educator III and Registered Dietitian with the Diabetes and Heart Disease Prevention and Control Program. She received her B.S. in Dietetics and her Graduate Degree in Health Promotion from the University of Delaware. For the past 3 years, Kelli has been a Lay Leader for both the Diabetes and Chronic Disease Self-Management Program. In May of 2017, Kelli became a Master Trainer with Stanford University and now trains other Community Health Workers to facilitate the Diabetes, Chronic Disease, Chronic Pain and Cancer: Thriving and Surviving evidenced-based health programs throughout Delaware. Kelli completed the American Association of Diabetes Educators – Diabetes Educator Level 1 Career Path Certificate Program.
Kelli has over 15 years’ experience working with several state agencies, community based programs and worksites delivering specialized presentations on Diabetes Awareness and Prevention, Heart Disease, Nutrition and Health Promotion.

Lenaye L. Lawyer, MD, FACOG | AmeriHealth Caritas Delaware
Dr. Lenaye Lawyer is a board certified physician in Obstetrics and Gynecology with many years of both clinical and administrative experience. Dr. Lawyer is a graduate of Howard University College of Medicine. She completed her OB/GYN residency at University of Maryland Medical System. Dr. Lawyer has directed all facets of the peer review process of multiple Medical and Surgical service types for state Medicaid programs, including waiver services and long term care. She has used a variety of different clinical criteria sets and electronic systems to provide medical oversight for managed care plans and has actively rendered decisions pertaining to the appropriateness and medical necessity of healthcare services provided to Medicaid recipients. She has had active participation in utilization management, credentialing, and quality improvement activities.
Dr. Lawyer currently serves as Chief Medical Officer for AmeriHealth Caritas Delaware where she provides clinical leadership for all health care affordability and clinical quality initiatives. She is active in her community, participating in community organizations in leadership roles to promote health and wellness.
Stacey Lourie, DNP | Christiana Care Health System
Stacy has been a family nurse practitioner in primary care for 22 years. She is currently the Director of the APC Fellowship programs at Christiana Health System. Stacy received her DNP from Wilmington University, May 2017. Her capstone project was titled, “Addressing Diabetes Distress in the Primary Care Office: Utilizing a Collaborative Approach with a Behavioral Health Consultant”. She serves as the Nurse Practitioner representative for the institutions Medical Group Advisory Board. She taught as an Associate Professor at Salem Community College in Carney’s Point, New Jersey in the Associate Degree in Nursing program.
Dr. Mark M Menendez, DPM | Coastal Foot & Ankle
Dr. Mark M Menendez, DPM, is a Podiatry specialist in Lewes, Delaware. He attended and graduated from Pennsylvania College Of Podiatric Medicine in 1997, having over 22 years of diverse experience, especially in Podiatry. He is affiliated with many hospitals including Bayhealth – Milford Memorial Hospital, Beebe Medical Center. Dr. Mark M Menendez also cooperates with other doctors and physicians in medical groups including Coastal Foot And Ankle, Llc. Dr. Mark M Menendez accepts Medicare-approved amount as payment in full.
Kim Zeitler Robbins | Delaware Pharmacists Society
Kim is a native Delawarean. She grew up and still lives in Harrington and supports her community through ongoing leadership in 4-H and Rotary. She graduated from the University Of Maryland School of Pharmacy in 1990. Kim loves talking with patients to improve their health care. She is a certified smoking cessation counselor and weight loss coach. She also is certified in immunizations, asthma and medication therapy management. Kim is a past president and current Executive Director of the Delaware Pharmacists Society and currently serves on the Delaware Board of Pharmacy.
